Lens & The Twirl

She just went on,
For she knew she was born to shine.

Hello beautiful souls! My new  post got a little delayed. I won’t give any excuses though!  But yes, I promise to keep writing and sharing my thoughts and experiences.

Recently I had a shoot with Femina for their festive special issue. Kinjal, features editor at Femina beautifully brought together fashion bloggers and stylists from Ahmedabad with their choice of outfit for Diwali. Here’s a quick look-back to the excitement behind-the-scenes!

The Outfit
I had chosen a long Anarkali from SPAN clothing. Long Anarkalis quite appeal to me because they look like an Indian version of evening gown. As much as I prefer black as my wardrobe colour, I pay equal attention to colours. For a festival like Diwali, a colourful outfit was must. So this was it! My favourite black and festive colours playfully together!
As mentioned in my earlier posts, I prefer minimal accessories. One statement jewelry piece, I believe, is sufficient to complete an outfit. Hence for jewellery I only added a pair of uncut diamond danglers and head chains for my long wavy hair.

 The Twirl
“Look at the camera, smile and twirl” said the expert behind the lens, Femina photographer Kavan. The playful child that I am, I was thrilled with the pose. This was my first shoot with Femina. So there I stood, all excited to twirl around with the colourful flare in my Anarkali. Well it was not as easy as I had thought. A couple of times I felt dizzy and stopped abruptly. Kinjal and the entire Femina team were very kind and supportive. So with short quick breaks in between, the shoot went on- from a number of twirls with nervous smiles and confused eyes to a series of shots that captured real happy smiles and a confident stare into the lens. Finally we had some good clicks!

It was truly a fun experience working with Kinjal and the Femina team. Right from the dress hunting roller coaster to getting decked up for the shoot to the round of twirling clicks followed by the interview, I enjoyed every moment of it. Each time I look at my picture in the magazine, it reminds me of the dedicated efforts of the entire team. I sincerely thank Femina and Kinjal Shah Desai for this wonderful feature!!

Well my lovely readers, my next post is going to be fun, creative, colourful, and…………………..that’s it! Saying no more. Wait for it!

Till then,
Happy Styling!!

Love,
Bhavs
