Stepping Ahead With Polka-Play

Image
‘I have to rock!’ is my daily morning mantra. Today, as I complete another year of my amazing life, gratitude seeps deeper into my soul and my mind steps up into an all new level of strength. Well that’s what we are born for- to be the best version of ourselves! In a world where goals turn into a race, I believe in moving at my own sweet pace. We all live our own story of goals, dreams and wishes. Ideally, our story should be independent of what goes on elsewhere. Living other people’s story can only make one’s life more complicated and the beauty of life lies in its simplicity. As you focus on your own story, you start chasing excellence and that- is where real success comes in. Focus makes you stronger, wiser and eventually happier. Pink and Polka These days, polka dots have been getting more space in my closet. And of course, I might never get over pink! Pink, black and white make a playful combination. When it comes to styling, I prefer comfort over fashion

Lovely Locks with Hair & Care Fruit Oil

Image
Hello everyone! Hope you’re all doing great! Well I got a hamper from Hair & Care few weeks ago that had some pretty colourful bottles of hair oil. They have recently launched a new range of fruit oils with assortments of strawberries, sweet lime, green apple, pomegranate, olives and oranges. I used the orange variant of the hair oil (containing orange, pomegranate and strawberry extracts) for a couple of days and here’s what I have to say about it: The first thing you notice about these colorful oils is their effervescent fragrance. This oil is less sticky and when applied in small quantities after hair-wash, gives your hair a finish similar to a serum thus making your locks manageable and easy to style. For people having wavy and wild locks like mine, this oil is a convenient product and better than a serum since it also nourishes your hair well. These fruit oils are also very light in density so they do not give that typical oily sheen to your hair. So you can regularl

Celebrating Freedom

Today is indeed a very special day, because apart from celebrating Independence Day, I will be celebrating the first anniversary of my blog. As my baby blog turns one, I sincerely want to thank each and every one who has been a part of my blogging life- brands that collaborated, blog readers, social media followers, photographers and all those who have contributed to my blog in any way. Since it is Independence Day, I want to share my idea of freedom. To me, freedom is being yourself. Most of us try to fit ourselves into other people’s image of us. Trying to be the ideal one in every role that we play is like white light giving up its pristine hue and splitting into seven colours forever. Even though each of the spectrum colours is beautiful, they can never replace the beauty of white light. In the same way, no matter how much you change yourself to fit into the many roles that you play, you must never lose your essence, for the real person behind those masks, is irreplac

The Modern Red Riding Hood

Image
Be The Smartest Version Of Yourself We grew up listening to stories. Some fairytales made us believe in magic, while many of them gave us lessons to remember for life. One such anecdote which my mother narrated when I was a kid was the story of The Little Red Riding Hood. To summarize quickly, it tells us about a little girl, who goes to meet her ailing grandmother. She comes across a wolf on her way and on being questioned, tells the wolf about her journey to her grandmother’s house. By doing so, she puts her granny’s life as well as her own life in danger. Of course, in the end, both the ladies are saved by the villagers. Talking about reality, we are surrounded by such stories, just that they are much more complicated. For example, in this story as Red comes across one wolf; in reality we are surrounded by beasts. The only difference is that they are masked with human faces. These beasts are out there to obstruct your growth, to make you deviate from
