Retro Drama ft. Shades of Summer
Ola beauties! First of all, Thankyou so much for appreciating
my write-ups and style tips. Every word of appreciation means a lot to me.
Some time back I watched an old Bollywood flick where-in the
leading lady wore an off-shoulder style outfit that is highly trending these
days. Fashion recycles are quite common. From bell-bottoms to bell-sleeves,
winged eyeliners, off-shoulders and much more, the current market is flooded
with styles inspired from the 1970s and 1980s. I wanted to try out a retro look since a long
time. Truly, old is gold!
‘Shades of Summer’ is a
brand owned by four innovative young girls. Their collection is highly varied
with a wide range of colours, fabrics and styles. Quite contrasting to the
brand name, they have outfits for all seasons! With such variety, you’re sure
to come across something that appeals to you. To add some retro-trend to my
wardrobe, I picked up a bell-sleeved dress having bold prints in contrasting
colours.
Bold printed outfits should be styled very carefully. To avoid looking too loud, your accessories should be minimal and neutral. Given the high neck, I added a long layered pearl necklace. I teamed the outfit with light brown tussel slippers to keep the look casual and trendy. A neutral coloured headscarf was added to complete the 1970s feel. And of course, winged eyeliner and red lipstick!

Alternatively, you can create a formal look with this outfit.
Team it up with pearl or diamond studs, black chunky heels and hair tied-up in
a ponytail or a knot. You can also create a highly funky look with this outfit
by adding a red head scarf and red heels. One outfit can be carried off at
different occasions by styling it differently.
Innovation is an essential ingredient of styling. A fixed,
rigid kind of wardrobe will always give you monotonous looks. In order to look
different, you must break-free from your pre-decided combinations of outfits
and accessories and try out new combinations.
So all you beautiful people, get creative and look your best!
