Expressions Of Love

Love Binds You,
But Then It Is Only Love That Can Set You Free.

Love is a word that is vast enough to cover the Universe. Alternatively, I also feel it is one of the most confusing words ever. Recently, the world celebrated Valentine’s Day with great zing as always. Like every year, I could see my surroundings decorated with hearts, flowers and soft toys. Honestly, these beautiful little things have always fascinated me. I love those cute pops of pink and red everywhere and the underlying idea of a beautiful life full of love and happiness.

The rising influence of social media is clearly visible in the lifestyle of people and also in the way they celebrate relationships. It has become a trend to express one’s feelings on social media, or should I say package one’s feelings well for the public! While expressing love is important, I believe it is even more important to have a relationship that is as beautiful as the words and images shared on social media. A sound relationship exists if both the people make it a point to nourish each other and that includes respect and prioritizing each other’s wishes and ambitions. It also includes encouraging your partner to grow, learn and stay healthy not just physically but also emotionally.

Love is a power that empowers. It is not a cage where you train your loved ones to be what you want them to be. Dictating the life of your dear ones is not love. Also, babysitting your loved ones will only make them dependent on you in the long run and that would lead to connections that lack balance.
While a prince saving his princess from the dragon or the queen protecting her king like in a game of chess would undoubtedly count as expressions of real love, it would be wise to go a step ahead and ensure that next time your princess faces a dragon she is capable of fighting it alone or your king, when surrounded by strong players in the chess of life, knows how to change the game!

The idea of a perfectly sound relationship is easier said than followed. We are humans after all, with limitations that can take us off the track, and that includes selfishness, the desire to control and also over-protectiveness. But with focus towards having a relationship where both the partners are empowered, these limitations can, with efforts be overcome. Like I always say, it is all about having the right balance!

When you live your relations with the right intentions and consequences that lead to happiness for at least a major portion of the remaining 364 days, then that would definitely call for a real celebration on Valentine’s Day!

Stay Happy!

Love,
Bhavs
