Turning A Year Older

I recently celebrated my birthday. This is one occasion that I always look forward to, for it tends to reinforce the value of self-importance, reminding me to love myself unconditionally. So I actually celebrated my birth month- the entire span of August.
The birthday, as always, was a day full of moments to cherish. While most of the people expressed their best wishes, few kept up with their friendly notoriety reminding me of yet another year deducted from my life span. Of course their sarcasm had a light-hearted vibe, but well, even it was meant to be taken at face-value I would have filtered it out of my memory.
The ideal- why hold on to darkness when there’s so much light around!

My Birthday Gift

Loaded with new stuff; not only from my dear ones but from myself too. I believe in self-gifting; pampering oneself is necessary. So yes a lot of stuff was added to my already choked-up closet but the best self-gift this year was- a new skill. I’d been planning to learn aerial yoga since quite a while so I made sure to be well-versed with at least the basics by my birthday. Three years back I gifted this blog to myself in the month of August. Growth and learning is what keeps me going so there couldn’t be a better gift than exploring a new zone.

How old are you?

Coming to the most common question- a forbidden one for females! As always, I wasn't spared this year too. Honestly, the age factor never makes me conscious but yes there are times when I choose not to answer such questions. Because frankly, everyone doesn't need to know everything!
So if someone still wants to know my age-
I am as old as I ought to be and as young as I want to be.

What has changed?

A lot! But the most important changes have thankfully been internal, at the mind and soul level. Letting go was a virtue I had been trying to master since a long time and this year it feels like I’m standing at the winning line- at a point where there’s peace, love, compassion, hope, energy and lots of positivity. Letting go is about acceptance of what is, while keeping your dreams alive. It is rooted in absolute faith in the Universe, and the belief that your destiny is a collection of your one’s thoughts.

A new beginning..

Lots of goals lined-up, some easy ones and a few unrealistic ones as well- living on a cloud sometimes is a good idea J
No concluding line to this post, for the year has just begun!
