Bohemian Monochrome: Dubai Diaries

Travelling can be highly rejuvenating. Work, targets, those endless thinking hours and resulting stress tends to take a toll on the quality of your life. So taking occasional breaks is a must. I recently took a week-long trip to Dubai and made the most of a long awaited holiday!

Sun, sand and the sea- a trio that puts you into a relaxing mood even as you think about it! Well I had similar plan when I went over to the Jumeirah beach, but the experience was even better than the trio I thought about! The weather was cool and cloudy, with a soothing breeze. So it was- the Sun, Sand and the Wind!

Clear water, sea shells, mild wind, cloudy sky and a relatively quiet surrounding (with Bollywood tracks being played at a cafĂ© a few meters away) the sight was breathtaking and picturesque.  A beach outing usually calls for colourful attire and funky prints in tune with the lively sunny beach ambience. But given the weather, I opted for a monochromatic outfit for the day with a colourful twist. For the monochrome- black crop top with black hot pants. Black usually tends to give a bold and formal look. To keep it monochromatic yet casual, I teamed up the co-ord set with a lacy full-length white cape.

As I had mentioned in my previous posts, accessories are an important component of any look. To give a colourful funky touch to the monochromatic boho-chic attire, I picked up coordinated multicoloured accessories. Especially when you travel, make sure you carry atleast one pair of neutral accessories and one pair of multicoloured ones since they can be easily added to any colour outfit. The colourful pompom tie-up sandals (one of my favorites because I made them myself) and the colourful striped sling bag give a vivacious look to the ensemble. With pink mirror shades and my favourite shade of red lip colour, I was all set for the cloudy beach day!

As the pictures speak, the wind played well with my long locks, swaying them around in a mess. Well the mess was all welcome for a while! Such windy indulgence calls for some aftercare. When your locks are all messed up due to wind and sand particles, do not shampoo them right away. Massage your hair with hot oil and wash it off after 2 hours. Make sure you condition them properly!

The sea and the horizon- a beauty of Mother Nature has a very calming effect on one’s mind.  Just sitting quiet and watching the sea for a while helps your mind to unwind its complex maze of thoughts. It helps you feel one with the Universe.

So friends, I hope you liked my Bohemian Monochrome look and I hope you enjoyed reading this fashion, travel and (a little) spiritual write up. I shall be sharing some more posts from the trip soon.

Till then,
Stay Happy Stay Stylish.
Happy Styling!

Love,
Bhavs
