The Girl Boss Diary

Heya everyone! I was on a short break and it feels great to be back to writing and sharing my thoughts, ideas and experiences with you all. I had been going through a lot of grinding thanks to the scorching heat that had brought down my energy levels drastically.  Anyways the weather issue is hopefully sorted for good and in the subsequent posts I will be sharing some tips on how to keep your energy levels high while working in the heat.

When the year 2016 ended, I wrote about rising of the girl boss. The ‘girlboss’ is a popular phrase being used these days. Well I assume each woman using it would be having her own story surrounding the phrase. Many of you have been asking me about why I call myself a girl boss (I use that phrase as a hashtag on my instagram posts often). So here it is- my idea about being a Girl Boss:

Being a boss is not just about handling an organization or a group of people. I believe bossiness begins with oneself. If you want to really be a boss, you first need to take charge of your own life and before that, take charge of your own mind. Be clear about yourself, your likes and dislikes, your ambitions and desires. Be aware of yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses. Keep your mind sorted. That does not mean you cannot get confused. We’re humans after all. But in most situations, your mind should be aware and alert about itself.

Being sorted with your thoughts alone doesn’t make you a boss of self; you should be able to voice your thoughts as well. That includes saying no when required, voicing your wishes, standing up for yourself and being loyal to yourself. If you don’t like something, say it. If you don’t want to do something, avoid it. There’s a thin line between being loyal to oneself and being offensively rebellious and with a balance of rationality and humanity, you can definitely avoid the offensive part.

Another important component of effective bossiness is stubbornness. When you set a goal, make sure you go for it. Don’t give up- be stubborn enough to cross over hurdles and get through. It does not mean that you leave behind your virtues of understanding, compassion and flexibility. As always, it’s the right balance that can make you successful in the long run.

So that’s my idea about being a boss and I love adding the tag of ‘Girl Boss’ to my name. Talking about the pictures here, to me red denotes love and success and I believe both go hand in hand. Love and gratitude open the doors to a truly successful life.

Hope you liked the write up. If you want me to elaborate on any point mentioned above do let me know!
Be kind, be grateful and be confident! Coming up with new wardrobe ideas on the blog soon.
