The Task of Multitasking

These days, the world has reached up to the point where competition is an all pervasive phenomenon. Multiple goals, the thirst to get better and the drive to realize one’s potential tends to push us into a life where we juggle between activities and effectively getting through tasks happens through smart work, out-of-the-box thinking and the skill of ‘jugaad’. Well this roller coaster can be real fun if we can efficiently manage and control our entire portfolio of tasks, but if deadlines start chasing us, the roller coaster could be a nightmare!

Many of you keep asking me as to why I am into multiple professions and how do I manage them. Usually my response is ‘just like that’ and ‘things get managed’. Here is a little elaborate and simplified response to both:

WHY:
Routine work tends to get boring. I feel it is better to switch over to another task and do it with all of your heart, mind and soul, than to repeatedly do the same task half-heartedly. Each of the activities that I engage in works as a stress-buster for the other ones. That’s the reason I usually don’t face any stress.

HOW:
The mantra stands- in order to gain something you have to give up something else. There are times when all of my activities have similar deadlines and demand a lot of time. There I bid a temporary goodbye to leisure, hobbies, socializing and other less relevant activities. When we choose our goals we choose the path that takes us to it and also the sacrifices. But if you choose your goals wisely, it’s worth it!

To sum it up, multitasking is fun!

THE LOOK:
I tried some multitasking with my outfit too! For the first look I wore the black and white skirt with a black off-shoulder top. I’m so in love with off-shoulder outfits. And of course, black is my ruling wardrobe colour. I have previously paired my monochromatic outfits with red and multi coloured accessories. This time I picked up pink to give the ensemble a softer look. I added a pink floral necklace and pink bow sandals. I did a little experiment with my make-up too. The base was simple without any contouring while the eyes had sharp contours with natural hues. I kept the look soft with nude and earthy shade palettes.

For the second look, I wore the skirt as a tube dress and put a waist belt over it. The first look is apt for a semi-formal get together or a casual meeting. The second look would go well for an evening lounge party or evening resort-wear.  The tube-dress adaption looks better with flared skirts and adding the belt gives the effect of an hour-glass figure. You can experiment further by adding a jacket over the dress and wearing the embellished belt over the jacket.

So this was a little about my multitasking wardrobe and a multitasking ‘Me’. Just like wardrobe innovations add newness to your look, the array of tasks involved in multitasking add newness to my life, everyday!

I hope you like the wardrobe adaptation and my usual dose of thought processes.
I shall be talking about summer hacks in my next post.

Stay cool, stay happy!

Love,
Bhavs
