Fetish For Coordination

“Chase with love what you want and
You shall get what you seek”

Shopping is such a soothing activity when you get exactly what you want. To me, shopping is not about always picking up big brands or endlessly adding things to my cart. It’s more like a treasure hunt. I love checking out places to get the best for my wardrobe.
Coordinated bags and shoes have well been in trend for quite a long time. Although paired bags and footwear are available at many places, the choice of colours and patterns is limited, especially in case of casual wear. So whenever I want coordinated accessories, I prefer to buy the footwear or the bag that appeals to me and then hunt for the other matching component that fits my style.

On a trip to Hong Kong a few weeks ago, I picked up an embellished denim bag. Though a little oversized and loud compared to my regular accessories, it added bling and variety to my closet. Now my fetish for coordination drove me to keep that bag unused until I found matching footwear. After a good amount of search that lasted for three months (yes for three months that bag lay idle in my closet) I finally found a close match that also fitted my style! I picked up the wedges from a store located at Linking road in Mumbai.

Such coordinated bling accessories make a great pair for any plain outfit or an outfit with subtle fine prints (such accessories should be avoided for outfits having bold prints else the ensemble might look chaotic). Denim bags and footwear can be paired with almost any colour. I chose to pair it with black to give my little black dress a casual look for daytime wear. For daytime, make up should be kept minimal.

Though it’s not compulsory to match your bags and shoes always, but such paired accessories make your wardrobe more interesting. They can add immensely to the simplest of outfits. Therefore, my fetish for coordination!

A little advice for all those who love shopping, if you have a habit of just picking up or ordering things online without a second thought, replace it with the habit of leisurely shopping. Styling is about carefully choosing elements for your wardrobe. It’s better to buy less and with a clear idea as to what you want rather than picking up things in bulk where most of it may end up lying away in your wardrobe forever, only because later you may realize that it doesn’t match your style.

I’ll soon be back with a new post.
Till then,
Happy Styling!!

Love,
Bhavs
