STYLE- The Inner Connection

“In her passion lay a secret;
She lived to grow, to accomplish and to
Bring her dreams to life.”
-Bhavna Narang

Style is no secret. It’s just how you put yourself together and carry off yourself with confidence and pride. Writing is one of the ways my thoughts get to breathe. Being the first post on my blog, it’s bound to be a little more philosophical for I believe that style is incomplete without the right mindset. So long as you celebrate your state of being and life’s gifted possessions with postivity, you have the ability to make heads turn and that’s what style is all about.

While style resides completely within you, fashion relates to your possessions. Fashion is the plethora of options in clothes, accessories, cosmetics and other wardrobe components. You tend to select things that match your inner self. That is where style and fashion come together.

In my first post, I opted to write about the colour that has dominated my wardrobe for years. Every colour is related to one or the other emotion. Your personality traits, likes and dislikes, past experiences, memories, all put together consciously and subconsciously trigger off a set of emotions when you see a particular colour. To me, black means confidence. While I relate black to success, black and white colours together appeal to me as a sophisticated combination.

In tune with my style, I opted for a black palazzo and paired it with an off-shoulder monochrome top which is pervasively in fashion these days. I relate the colour red with beauty. A medium sized red bag formed the established classic combination of black-white-red and black platform heels were added to merge the footwear with the palazzo. So an apt and safe ensemble for a formal/ semi formal/ casual evening out.

A piece of advice while you add components to your wardrobe- look out for what’s in trend but pick up only what appeals to your inner self. For example, if you’re not comfortable wearing high heels, then it’s better to avoid them, wear something that’s comfortable and walk gracefully rather than limping around in those heels if you cannot carry them well. If you wear what you can relate to, it will surely add to your style score. Be yourself!

A lot more coming up in the next posts! (minus the extra dose of philosophy of course)
Till then,
Happy Styling!!

Love,

Bhavs
