The Rainbow Is Everywhere!
Halfway through monsoon and I still haven’t seen a single rainbow!
Every year whenever I see the sun while it’s drizzling, I rush to my verandah
or to the terrace, trying to spot that splendid band of colours and even if I
find a part of the spectrum band, I feel so lucky! But sadly this year, there’s
been no luck so far.
Just like the rainbow there’s an endless list of things and
sights that make me happy and I’m sure you all must be having your own list of
things that delight you. With a clear-cut list most of us keep hunting around
for these things; in simple language we search for happiness and when we don’t
find that particular thing, we’re not happy. So like each time I run into the
verandah in search of a rainbow and I don’t see it, I feel glum. After having
waited for a couple of weeks and having no luck with spotting the rainbow, I
was one day casually strolling around a kid’s play area when I saw this
beautiful play of colours; not exactly the rainbow which you get to see in the
sky; but with hues no less enchanting. I found my rainbow right there!
If only particular things make you happy then you’re actually
limiting your zone of happiness. Expand that zone and see how everything
automatically falls into place! Planning to buy a BMW but falling too short of
funds? How about a Honda or a Ford for now; those drives can be delightful too!
An old friend is too busy to receive your calls? Just log in to your messenger
account and start chatting! You never know, you might end up getting better
friends for the rest of your life! The rains cancelled your plan for an outing?
Turn on the television or open up Netflix, make yourself some junk of your
choice, switch on all the decorative lights in your house and enjoy the
evening!
So you see; there’s an alternative for everything. Now
whether you find that alternative equally good, better or worse, that depends
upon your level of rigidity. Whether it’s the spectrum band in the sky, or
vibrantly painted metal rods placed outside a kids play area, colours spell
beauty everywhere!
So that’s My Rainbow, where’s yours?
